FULL SPECTRUM DOULA SERVICES

Service Area

Servicing All of SAlt Lake, Tooele, and
Utah Counties as well as parts of
Davis county.

I am a birth and postpartum doula. My role in birth is to hold space for you, to make sure you feel seen, heard, supported, and loved. In birth you may feel like so much is out of your control and in the hands of others and your birthing body. I am not there to empower you during your birth, but rather to help you learn and remember that you had that power inside of you all along. To walk away from your birth thinking “Wow, I just did that, my body, baby, and I are so amazing!”

I will be there to help you use that power along the way, to advocate for you when you need it and to make sure your providers are explaining things to you and giving you time to ask questions and receive answers. I will be there to help provide comfort measures, suggestions, bounce ideas off of and to take some of the fear, anxiety, and unknown out of birth. I love to support partners and help them help you, because nothing is more amazing than watching you and your partner work together to bring your baby into this world.

I am a certified herbalist with a key focus in maternal care and have lots of alternative tools and herbal remedies catered to your needs and changes during pregnancy, labor/delivery, and postpartum. My goal isn’t to just support you through birth but to travel with you through your journey into parenthood. Whether that looks like you becoming a first time parent or learning to balance your changing life with multiple kids toddeling alongside you, I am with you helping every step of the way.

What made you start thinking about hiring a doula to support you during this pregnancy?

Love

Birth is a deep and instinctual journey between you and your
baby. It is a journey into the unknown, of surrender, trust, and
unknown courage and strength. I believe everyone deserves
to give birth in spaces that feel safe. Where you are
surrounded by trusted individuals who make you feel cared
for, loved, respected, and honored. At your birth I hold space
for you, I trust in your intuition because nobody knows your
body and your baby better than you. You are powerful, wise,
strong, and the expert on your birth.
You have the ability and
the right to birth the way that you feel is best. To have your
voice heard, your needs met, and to be supported in birthing.
With me on your team you have one more person there to
make sure your wishes are heard and honored. I will provide
comfort measures, knowledge to help labor progress
naturally, advocacy when needed, and anything else you
may need to feel safe and secure during this transition no
matter what happens along the way.

Along with providing support to you and your partner during
your labor and delivery, Hiring a doula reduces your chances
of having an unplanned cesarean section, unnecessary
interventions, and having a traumatic birthing experience.
recent Statistics show that just having a doula in the room
with you reduces these risks by upwards of 34%. It also
increases the likelihood that you will be happy with your birth
because if plans need to change and you need to shift from
your birth plan, I will make sure you get informed consent for
everything that happens during your birth. I will also make
sure that when changes must be made, we still do whatever
we can from your birth plan to make sure you still have a
voice in what happens even when things need to change.

why hire a Birth Doula

Whether it is your first baby, your third, or your ninth
every baby is a new wonderful additon to uour family.
And with every addtion comes new routines to learn,
and new challenges to overcome. Postpartum doulas
can help support you in this new journey in many ways.
Most people think of a “night nurse” when thinking of
postpartum doulas. Someone who come and stays the
night at your home with you and helps take care of the
baby so you can get some sleep. This is one of the
ways a postpartum doula can support you but not the
only way. At Honey and Home we offer night time
doula support as well as daytime support. We can hold,
comfort, and care for your baby if that is what is most
helpful for you. But we also can hold, care for, and
support you. When you hire a postpartum doula
through Honey and Home we love to support you by
coming and taing care of you and your home. Let us
come do your dishes and laundry while you snuggle
your new baby in bed. Let us cook you a nutritious
dinner while you watch a movie with your family. Let us
draw you a healing sitz bath and brush your hair and
hold you and support you through this transition into
parenthood.
